May Flowers Free Flower Crochet Pattern

Finally, I am back online with a new computer and ready for May flowers! Remember? May is to be our month of flowers whether they're knitted or crocheted patterns. I have my first flower designed and it's FREE to you to give it a try. It takes very little scrap yarn so have fun using up your scrap yarns and creating lots of May flowers.

Chain 4 and slip into first chain to make a loop, chain 1

row 1, 8 sc in loop, slip in top of chain 1

row 2, 2 sc in each of the sc from previous row (no need to turn and nothing has to be exact here) 16 sc

row 3, this row sc in next sc and 2 sc in next sc all the way around alternating till you have approximately 24 stitches

row 4, chain 5 and sc in the next stitch around; approximately 22 loops, slip to join and fasten.

row 5, change colors and join in any sc in row below loops, chain 5 slip in next sc around till you have 15 or 16 chain 5 loops. Make sure, because it is a spiral, that you stay consistantly in a circle. join and fasten yarn.

Now, take one of the yarn colors or even a double stand; one of each, and from the front put hook through one of the sc stitches and draw up the yarn from the back. Pull up about 3 inches of yarn. Continue around and around until you've gone around about three or four times using the same single crochets from that same row over and over. This will tighten up the strands of yarn but also going around continuously it will be automatically attached in the back so they won't pull out. See photos. Now trim the strands to make the fuzzy center.

FREE May Flower: This is the front before trimming.

FREE May flower: This is how the back will look.

Hope this makes sense and you can make lots of flowers with this pattern. If you have any questions, please let me know. But it's such a free form flower pattern, there really is no right or wrong. Have fun and I'll come back with another flower pattern.

Lorenz Manifold Crochet Project Update

Lorenz Manifold waiting for shaping. I can't believe I finally finished this project. Well, it's still not completely finished because it needs shaping with a rod and wire. Think I need help doing that or at least finding the rod. There's only something like a total of 21,817 stitches from round one to the end, round 47!

I'll be back with photos of the shaping.

Knit Crochet and Computer Problems !

You haven't heard from me for a few days because I was having computer problems. Big computer problems. Like crashing! LOL I went out last night and bought a new laptop. We will be living aboard our 40' motorhome home in the next few months and I want to be able to sit outside and work on my blog. Knitting and crocheting is priority for me as far as evening hours go while watching TV but I have been lost without my computer during the day. Watch for a new FREE patter coming up in May.

So now, I can post more and have capabilities to show you some photos again.

I want to work on a free pattern for you for May. May flowers! When I had the survey, crochet and knit came in pretty close but I think the free pattern will be crochet. Maybe filet crochet.

Thank you for being patient. I'm back and it feel so good. Don't forget to leave a comment or become a follower. I have two other blogs for you to check out. One has free patterns also called Arts and Crafts dot COM and Full Time RV Travel Fun. I want to share recipes along with storage tips and travel tips.

Lorenz Manifold Crochet Pattern Project Update

This pattern is getting really weird but one day it'll be done and will turn into a beautiful art hanging. I didn't think crocheting this would take so long and I will need to get my husband involved when it comes to putting the wires in and figuring out that part. Crocheting is so fun but this has been a real interesting crochet project.

There's about three other posts before this one if you want to see the progress. The finished project is at: http://infosthetics.com/archives/2004/12/lorenz_manifold.html

This stage of the pattern I'm on row37 which has 782 stitches around. Here's where it all began. See my first post with a photo.

Take a look at this wonderful version of the Raindrop pattern at Thea's Craft. I asked if someone would try my crochet pattern and Thea was kind enough to do so for me.

Isn't her raindrop wonderful?! I wouldn't have thought to use more than one color and she used worset weight yarn, like Red Heart, which is one of my favorites. Plus she was able to use some scraps.

WTG!! Thea! I wish I had a photo but if you go to her blog, you'll see it. She has a wonderful blog so don't miss it.

Thank you Thea!

Update on My Lorenz Manifold Crochet Pattern

pattern is taking longer than I thought it would as I'm only on row 31 and when complete I will have 591 stitches. It's been fun to crochet but the real test is making it take shape when I'm all done. There's a total of 47 row and 1104 stitches. Already it's taking my evening to crochet one row. As it gets bigger, it's going to take me two evenings to do one row.

April Showers Bring May Flowers CROCHET RAIN DROP Pattern?

I thought April could be April showers, remember, and was looking for a crochet pattern for a rain drop. Then I thought why? Who would want to crochet a rain drop?

I couldn't find a pattern I liked, so I just started crocheting and this is what I came up with. All the patterns I found called for worsted weight yarn, which I love to use, but I didn't want a huge rain drop! So I used my blue crochet thread and a #7 steel crochet hook. This one measures just under 3". The next one I make, I promise I will write down what I did so you can have the pattern and make some, too.

Maybe several could be crocheted and strung like a little garland. Maybe one could be attached to a skewer and stuck in a plant. Any other ideas out there? I will try to get more made and add them to a garland so you can see what that would look like. I left the thread attached so it could be tied onto a keyring or something. I would love to hear more ideas.

What do you think? Did I keep my promise? It IS a rain drop!

Spring Crochet Pattern ~ It is April 1st

I had planned on a perfect crochet project for today but I had horrible computer problems and I'm lucky I can at least post this much. I had to completely clean out my harddrive and I've been working all day restoring programs and I lost a lot of emails.

I'll be back tomorrow to post the real one with the crochet pattern I plan to share with you.

Thanks for understanding,
Kathy
